- Summer 2008 promises to be very exciting and rewarding. I was raised in rural Kansas, near Highway 36. Every summer, I would see and sometimes visit with transcontinental bicyclists traversing Kansas on this well built but sparsely used road. I often dreamed of joining them. As a long-time bicycling enthusiast, this summer I plan to fulfill that adolescent dream. Starting June 15, I will bicycle from Florence, Oregon to Salem, Massachusetts. Through this blog, you're invited to join me. My wife, Mary will drive support. Combining bicycling and my work, I am dedicating my efforts to the goal of raising $100,000 for charitable services through the Pine Rest Iowa clinics. In addition to following the bicycle journey on this blog, you're invited to support the journey to mental health many people experience at the Pine Rest Iowa Clinics.
